Job Description
AFFCO is
currently seeking a passionate Improvement Engineer to join their Engineering
team.
The ideal
candidate will have project management experience, driving the project
from scoping stage to delivery of new or amended assets.
It includes
identification of, but principally the delivery of automation projects. Tasks
will include costing, preparation of payback and, depending on size and
complexities of the project, project management of the install through to
commissioning.
You will also
need to manage any additional secondary effects to ensure the smooth running of
our plants for all our front-line plant process workers. You are to work with
both our trades and operations teams to ensure your projections align with
their needs. You will also work closely with contractors to scope and tender
each project.
Key objectives:
- Identify and propose effective solutions toward the improvement of processing capabilities and process optimization and utilization of plant machinery.
- Prepare cost saving business cases which include detailed capex preparation, project timelines, cost quotations and payback calculations.
- Development of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure machinery / product is being utilised effectively and is fit for purpose.
- Effectively implement change management processes while striving for continuous improvement.
This position is primarily located at Horotiu in
the Waikato region, however, does require frequent domestic travel to
sites based on the projects you are assigned.
Qualifications
The successful
applicants will demonstrate the following:
- Holds an Engineering degree or other relevant tertiary qualification
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with all key stakeholders including the Trades team, operations team and external consultants, contractors and suppliers on a regular basis.
