Job Description
We are currently seeking a reliable Stockyard Hand to join our team at AFFCO Manawatu, based in Fielding.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked in a manufacturing environment and has worked with stock previously. This role requires working with live animals, stock receival administrative tasks, recording stock related data, and working in a team environment. Therefore, this role requires experience in animal welfare / working with animals, sound numeracy and literacy skills and sound computer / digital skills; however full training is available to those who can demonstrate they have the right attributes to be successful in this role.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Receiving of stock and relevant administrative process involved with this
- Supporting the management of animal welfare within the department
- Reconciling the stock numbers and daily process figures
- Communicating with other departments and key personnel to ensure efficient receipt and processing of stock
- Making sure that all compliance and regulatory requirements are strictly adhered to
- Continuously improving standards and efficiency
- Recording and processing documentation/departmental administration in an accurate and timely manner
Qualifications

- be keen to learn new skills
- be able to work on a night shift roster including weekends
- enjoy working in a diverse team
- have Numeracy & Literacy skills to NCEA Level 2
- intermediate computer literacy and digital skills
